Belt Verification entry rules

An Organization connected to a federation has the option to not only require a certain belt for entry registration, but also that the belt required in turn requires a verification from a connected federation. This in practice makes it possible for the federation to control more in detail who is eligible for participation in their events and who is not.

Creating Belt Verification rules

For this demonstration we already have an event, entry and class set up. If you need help with this, please check out How to create or edit entries, values and rules and come back when you're all set up!

We also assume your organization and event are connected to the federation you are going to point your rules towards, so if you don't have that set up yet, please check out How to add your events to a federation platform.

Start of by visiting the entry you wish to set up these rules for. Find the class containing your belt rules, and click on the value you want to edit. You can of course set up these rules for as many values as you'd like, but just one at a time. :)

In the dialog opening up, first make sure you have a regular belt rule. As in the 1 marked box below, you need at least one rule following the format of "<skill> is <skill level>". For example, "Skill: Judo is Brown", meaning a brown belt in Judo is required for all athletes registering in this class. You can only require verifications on belts you already require as is, so make sure the correct belt is added here.

For classes with multiple belts allowed (for example a combined brown/black belt class), add them both in the far right skill level selection like you normally would. Note that multiple values selected in the skill level select box will result in OR logic, meaning the athlete can have either a brown or a black belt for example. Adding a new row below with another belt will result in AND logic, meaning the athlete needs to have both belts, which often is not what you are looking for.

Once you have at least one of these regular belt rules in place, the option to "Add verification rule" will appear. Click this button.

Now you get a similar select as above, but almost backwards with the belt selection first. In the belt select box, all values from your above selected belt rules will appear as options. In the federation select box, all of the event connected federations will appear as options.

Similar to the rule form above, the skill level input here creates OR logic, and a new row creates AND logic. For example, an input like "Judo - Brown, Judo - Black is verified by Pontalainens Judo Federation" will mean athletes registering need to have their belt (either brown or black) verified by Pontalainens federation. On the contrary, one row of "Judo - Black is verified by Pontalainens Judo Federation" and another row of "Judo - Black is verified by Jansons Judo Federation" will mean that a black belt verification from both Pontalainens and Jansons Judo federations are required.

Once you've created the correct rules, hit "Save" in the bottom right.

When the dialog closes, you can see a label like the one below indicating your rule creation was successful.
