Belt Verifications

With the belt verification system built directly into the existing Smoothcomp infrastructure, federations can verify a members belts which in turn can allow them to compete within the federation. Academy managers or coaches can also verify belts, and these verifications can automatically trigger verifications from a parent federation. This allows federations to essentially delegate the verifying rights to trusted coaches.

Federation members can also request verifications from a federation, allowing the federation admins to have a quick and Smooth verification process.

Verification requirements

Verifications can be assigned by a federation admin, academy admin or coach. The member receiving the verification also needs to be an approved member, meaning "Pending" or "Rejected" statuses will not allow for a verification to be assigned. If a member with existing verifications are rejected from the federation or academy, these verifications are inactivated. This means that they are not visible and the system will essentially act as if they don't exist. If the member is once again approved however, the earlier verifications will be reactivated and go back to how they were before.

How to assign verifications

The process of assigning a verification is quite simple, and very similar between federations and academies.

Federation

Open the member page and click the edit button next to the belt you would like to verify.

In the dialog, check the check box.

In the section opened up, enter the correct information in the editable fields as well as an optional note and hit save in the bottom right.

Academy

From the member list, open up the belt settings for the member you wish to verify.

In the dialog, click the edit button next to the belt you would like to verify.

Check the check box.

In the section opened up, enter the correct information in the editable fields as well as an optional note and hit save in the bottom right.

Skill level history

To see the belt history for a user, click the "History" button in the bottom of the "Belt/Skill levels" section. This opens up a dialog containing a table listing all events. Clicking on "Details" on a row opens up a second dialog with a representation of what the belt/skill level looked like at the time.

Verification requests

The federation has the option to allow Verification Requests for one or many belts. Once enabled, all members of the federation can request a verification on the belt(s) from the federation. The federation can then decide if they want to approve or reject this request based on the data passed along from the member. Read more about this and how to implement it here.

Automatic verifications

The federation has the option to generate automatic verifications for members' belts. Either when a member competes with the belt in an entry which requires the belt for participation, or when a member academy assigns a verification on the member and belt (which comes with a a few different optional criteria). Read more about this and how to implement it here.

Verifications in event entry rules

An Organization connected to a federation has the option to not only require a certain belt for entry registration, but also that the belt required in turn requires a verification from a connected federation. This in practice makes it possible for the federation to control more in detail who is eligible for participation in their events and who is not. Read more about this and how to implement it here.
