Scheduler distribute tool

Go to 00:59 to see the distribution tool

- What is the distribute tool?

The new scheduler includes among other things a new way of distributing blocks across multiple mats at the same time, with just a few clicks!

- How does it work?

Using the distribute tool is as easy as a few simple steps; select your blocks, open the distribute tool, select the mats you want to distribute too, select placement and hit "move". Then you're done!

Selecting the blocks:

To select blocks, you first need to make sure you are in edit mode, which will allow you to select and move around blocks in the schedule. To toggle this mode, you can either hit the edit button shown in the first image below, or hold cmd (MacOS) / ctrl (Windows) when clicking on a block. When in edit mode, the "edit" button is blue and the footer at the bottom is visible, as shown in the second image below.

Now when in edit mode, you can select blocks. To select a single block, all you have to do is click on it. To select mutliple blocks you hold the same key as before (cmd or ctrl) when you click the blocks. Holding the specified key when clicking an already selected block will deselect it.

Opening the distribute tool and setting the options:

When one or more blocks are selected, the distribute button will light up, indicating the ability to now use the tool. To start distributing, you simply click the button, and a modal window will open, showing you the two options you have for distributing; mat selection and placement.

  • The mat selector is a drop-down menu where you can choose which of your mats you want to distribute your chosen blocks to. This can range from just one up to all of your mats. Click on the input field called "Select mats" to see the options menu.

  • The placement selector has two options; Top or Bottom. This simply specifies whether you want the selected blocks to be placed above or below blocks that might already be present on your selected mats. In other words; at the top or at the bottom of the mats.

Distributing the blocks:

Now the only thing left is to hit the "move" button to distribute your chosen blocks across your chosen mats.

In just a moment your blocks are moved to their new positions. Now that the blocks have moved, go ahead and click the "Save" button in the bottom left corner, which will also show how many changes were made to the schedule since the last save.

If you are unhappy with the result of the distribution, or some option was simply clicked by mistake, feel free to either manually drag'n drop the blocks or use the distribute tool once again. Just remember to save the changes when you are happy with the placement, otherwise the changes might be lost.

Good luck distributing!
