How to get the URL of an event
For a multitude of reasons you might want to get a link to an event, also known as the event page URL. The URL is simply the text seen at the top of your browser when you visit the page. Like here boxed in red, where the short format URL in this case is "demo.smoothcomp.com/en/event/3558":
The full format of the URL includes a few more characters at the start of the string, then looking like this: "https://demo.smoothcomp.com/en/event/3558". This will most likely show once you click the text field in your browser. Exactly how the URL field looks will differ depending on the browser used. In the example above Chrome is used.
Copy the URL
To send a link to the event to someone else, simply visit the page you want your friend to visit (the event page in this case) and copy the URL. Then paste this where ever you want it - in an email, in a text message or whatever.
Copying text on desktop can be done either by marking the text (triple left click or left click and drag to mark) and then hitting the keyboard combination "ctrl + c" (windows) or "cmd + c" (mac), or you can mark the text like before, right clicking it and then selecting the option "copy". Pasting the URL is as simple as following the copying steps just mentioned but switching "c" in the keyboard combination to "v", or using right click choosing the "paste" option in the menu.
This operation on a mobile device is similar to the right-click alternative above, but usually involves pressing and holding on the marked text instead of right clicking a mouse.
What about the event ID?
Each event has an identifier (ID for short), which is used to tell all events apart. On Smoothcomp the event ID can always be found by taking a look at the URL. The ID is always the number followed by "/event/". In our example at the top or this article the ID is "3558".
Same thing goes for your account or profile, for example. The numbers following the strings "/profile/" or "/account/" will be the ID of your profile/account.
